ABOUT US

WHO WE ARE

Beginning as two partners, the origin of Barstone Group began long before the company's inception. Co-founders Aidan and Liam aimed to put the entrepreneurial spirit to work from a young age, dreaming about heavy equipment as early as kindergarten. Fast forward, during their time at university, Aidan and Liam were able to gain labour and operating experience at a variety of construction and waste collection companies. Graduating with Business and Engineering degrees, the soon-to-be partners gained project management experience in both private commercial development construction as well as regional and MTO heavy civil infrastructure projects. With the combined knowledge and experience Barstone Group was founded with, there is not only the capability, but the drive and desire to take on any job.

WHY THE BLACK AND WHITE

Choosing black and white company colours wasn't just a lack of colour palette; Barstone Group pays homage to the largest sanitation department in the world: Department of Sanitation New York. In 1895 New York was facing a sanitation crisis and appointed Colonel George Waring Jr. to be the commissioner of the Department of Sanitation New York. Bringing military style management to DSNY, workers were professional, uniforms were crisp, and equipment had minimal branding as still seen today on the all white trucks showing only "sanitation" on the side corner. This clean all white look was supposed to show professionalism of the department and associate with health professionals as New Yorks sanitation problem was handled with pride.

Barstone Group aims to instil the same beliefs in all employees and operations. We aim to handle all jobs safely and effectively bringing professionalism to all areas of work. Our well maintained equipment bares clean black and white colours like a suit and tie we wear with pride in the industry.
